EGG, an egg that opens the conversation about transition
How do you get residents talking about the energy transition or about water? Studio Puck van Dijk puts down a 4.5 metre egg. Before it went into the neighbourhood, it was tested at KAAP.

What EGG is
EGG is an interactive artwork by Studio Puck van Dijk, the size of a delivery van. Inside the egg, a mysterious creature is brooding that responds to touch, sound and movement with colour and sound. With augmented reality you catch a glimpse of what is inside. Around the egg there are workshops, conversations and recordings for EGG Radio, a podcast the makers produce together with young people.
Why an egg
The municipality of Vlissingen is looking for ways to bring transition questions closer to its residents: how do they deal with the energy transition, with water, with a changing city? An egg stands for something that is brooding but not yet visible. That different image of the word transition opens the conversation, in your own neighbourhood and in your own way.
Where to see EGG
EGG stands in the Dokter Stumphiuspark in Vlissingen in September, from 1 October at the Karolingenburg in Oost-Souburg (opening at 8 pm, on 30 September you can help paint the egg) and from 17 October in the Westduinpark. No registration needed.
Who is behind it
Studio Puck van Dijk from Amsterdam makes immersive theatre, art and audio productions, with Puck van Dijk as artistic director and Anouk van Geffen as managing director. Paniek Kollektief built the egg, Hay Kranen connected sensors, image and sound, Bas Jansen designed the creature in 3D and Flavia Faas made the sound. HZ University of Applied Sciences contributes. EGG is made possible by the Province of Zeeland, the municipality of Vlissingen and the Cultuurfonds.
What is tested at KAAP
