Students cook in the test kitchen for the first time
Twelve HZ students got to work in the KAAP test kitchen, and went home with a bag full of home-made meals for the rest of the week.

What happened
On Monday 10 November, HZ Green Office organised a meal prep cooking workshop in the KAAP test kitchen. Chef Fia de Pree, who has a passion for vegetarian cooking and local ingredients, put together a menu with seasonal vegetables from market garden Plantalia in Ritthem, including an Indian curry, a Moroccan stew and several side dishes.
How it went
The students started by washing and preparing the fresh vegetables, then cooked the dishes themselves with Fia guiding them. Plenty was shared: knowledge, cooking techniques and a good time. Everyone took their own meals home, for a sustainable and healthy week.
Why this fits KAAP
Through HZ Green Office, HZ students choose activities alongside their studies. The KAAP test kitchen is used more and more for projects, trial productions and workshops on sustainable food. This workshop was the first time students cooked there themselves.
